Refunds & Warranty

Effective May 24, 2026. We want parts on cars, not stuck in your garage. Below is exactly how returns, exchanges, and warranty claims work. You have 30 days from delivery to request a return on eligible items.

Damages and issues

Inspect every shipment when it arrives. If a part shows up damaged, defective, or the box itself is wrecked, email marc@kodoautomotive.shop within 7 days of delivery with:

  • Your order ID
  • A clear photo of the damage
  • A photo of the outer box (especially if it's torn or crushed)
  • A short description of what's wrong

We'll either ship a replacement at no cost or refund in full — your call. Lost-in-transit shipments and obvious carrier damage are on us, not you.

Warranty

Manufacturer warranties apply to every part Kodo carries (Mishimoto, aFe, Eibach, Hawk, Injen, and the rest). Most cover defects in materials and workmanship; the duration is brand- and part-specific and listed on the product page.

Not covered:

  • Negligence — improper install, missing supporting modifications, or running outside the part's rated operating range.
  • Modification — drilling, cutting, welding, or otherwise altering the part.
  • Theft or loss after delivery confirmation.
  • Race or competition use, unless the part is sold for it.

To start a warranty claim, email us with order ID, photos / video of the failure, and a description of the install. We route the claim to the manufacturer and stay in the loop until it's resolved.

Exchanges

Easiest way to swap a part for a different spec or fitment: order the new part, then return the original under our 30-day window. That gets the right part on your car faster than waiting for a swap. Email us first if you want us to hold the second order until the first one's back.

Refunds

To start a return, email marc@kodoautomotive.shop with your order ID, the part name, photos of the part and its packaging, and the reason. We reply within 1–2 business days with an RMA number and the return address. Don't ship parts back without an RMA — unauthorized returns get refused at the warehouse.

The part must be unused, uninstalled, and in its original packaging. Parts with install marks, cut wires, scratched hardware, or missing components aren't eligible.

Return shipping:

  • Our fault (wrong part shipped, defective on arrival): we cover return shipping and replace or refund in full.
  • Your call (changed mind, didn't suit your build even though fitment matches): you cover return shipping, and we refund the part price minus the original outbound shipping cost.

Non-returnable: items marked final sale or dropship direct on the product page, used parts with install evidence, custom-ordered items, gift cards, and digital downloads.

Refund timing — once we receive the return and confirm condition:

  • Credit / debit cards (Stripe): 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
  • PayPal & Venmo: 1–2 business days to clear in your PayPal balance.
  • Affirm: your remaining balance is adjusted by Affirm; if you've already paid more than the refund, they'll send it back per their schedule.

You'll get a refund-confirmation email the moment we process it.

International refunds

International orders follow the same 30-day window, but a few differences:

  • Return shipping is paid by you on non-defective returns — international rates are no joke, and we don't mark it up.
  • Duties and import taxes aren't refundable by us. Most countries will refund those if you file with their customs office; we'll provide whatever documentation you need.
  • Refunds are issued in USD to your original payment method. Your bank's FX rate at refund time may differ from the rate at purchase — that's outside our control.

Who you're dealing with

Kodo Automotive is owned and operated 100% by Marc Gallo, doing business as “Kodo Automotive.” Every refund issued under this policy comes directly from the owner — no third-party processor sets the terms. If a decision goes the wrong way, emailing marc@kodoautomotive.shop reaches Marc directly.
