The aFe Takeda Cat-Back Exhaust replaces everything downstream of the FK8's catalytic converter with a 3" mandrel-bent 304 stainless steel system that retains the signature center-exit triple-tip design. Direct bolt-on using factory hangers and clamps.

The Takeda's larger-diameter piping and freer-flowing muffler open up the top end without making the car obnoxious at cruise — there's no drone at highway speeds, which is the single complaint most performance exhausts get wrong. Deep, controlled note under throttle, civil idle.

The FK8's factory intercooler is fine for stock duty. Pile on a tune, add a few summer track days, or just drive it hard on a hot afternoon and the temps climb. Mishimoto's direct-fit aluminum unit replaces the OEM core with a thicker, denser one that doesn't heat-soak the same way. Bolts to the factory mounting points — no cutting, no brackets, no fab work.

If you've ever watched your boost taper off in second gear on a hot lap, this is the part you're looking at. A thicker core with more surface area holds onto heat the stock unit passes straight through to the intake charge, which is what keeps intake air temperatures from climbing across a session. Daily-driven cars in California, Texas, or Arizona run into the same wall — you can pretend the stock cooler is fine until July tells you otherwise.

The Hawk HPS 5.0 brake pads replace the FK8's factory front pads with a higher-friction ferro-carbon compound that bites harder when you ask for it and produces dramatically less brake dust on the wheels. Direct OEM-replacement fit; no caliper, rotor, or hardware changes required.

The HPS 5.0 compound is street-tuned — designed to perform from cold the first time you tap the pedal, which is exactly what you want in a daily-driven car. Modest gains in bite over OEM, dramatic reduction in dust output, comparable wear life to factory pads. Not a track pad: if you're tracking the car regularly, jump to the DTC-30 — these don't have the heat capacity for sustained high-temperature work.

The Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs lower the FK8 0.6" up front and 0.7" in the rear — Eibach's own published figures for this kit, lowering the center of gravity, reducing body roll, and tightening up the slightly under-damped feel of the factory ride height. Direct fit with OEM shocks — but plan on a rear camber kit (Eibach 5.67476K) and an alignment in the same job: at the lowered height the rear gains enough negative camber to chew through tires without one. Budget both into the install.

The stock springs are tuned soft for the chassis the Type R is built on. Pro-Kit keeps a progressive-rate design — compliant in initial travel on rough roads, firmer as the spring loads — while reducing the factory wheel gap. The trade-off you don't get is the harshness of cheap coilovers.
